The Colonial Vinyl gate socket is a patented, extruded product that is more durable than the typical molded piece. Once this gate socket is properly cemented inside the end upright of the gate and the rail is cemented inside of the socket, the rail cannot move in or out, nor can it move up, down, or sideways. Because it is completely contained inside the upright and thus not visible from the exterior, it does not detract from the gate’s appearance. Additionally there are no external brackets or visible screws.
